  1. Just found a website that looks kind of interesting - about how we consume way more than we need - it really fits in with what we have experienced in Honduras. When I came back from my first visit to Honduras, I was already convicted that I had way too much stuff, so I gave a LOT away when we moved from the house in Otterbein to our apartment in Lafayette. But, like most of us, I have continued to accumulate things, mostly with the plan to make purses out of the many thrift store sweaters, belts, etc., and the tons of fabric, blah blah blah. I need to downsize again because I don't have room in my craft room to hold it all. I personally think we all need to reevaluate how much stuff we have, and why we think that is so important. Just saying.... Time for my daily gratitude -- I am thankful for my dear friend, Barb Meyer, who is one of the most wonderful, generous, self-less Christian women I have ever had the pleasure of knowing! She recently lost her husband, Brud, after a battle with Alzheimer's. When it came right down to it, stuff was definitely not important in that situation - the connection between two human beings who loved each other, but whose conversations had been reduced to (Brud) "you're the best" as he patted Barb's hand, and her reply to him, "you're the best too", was what really mattered. Say a prayer for Barb as she grieves the loss of her love, and moves forward with her life.
